This site is going to be devoted to, and contain recollections and photos of, my friends from the Milano Coffee Bar which used to be in Darlington Street, Wolverhampton in the early 1960s. Dave Hill from Slade remembers it.
If you remember the "cave" at Burnhill Green, there are some photos and a video here.
I would be known to my friends from that period as "George" Hawker and anyone who remembers me is invited to contribute memories and photos. Some of the names from that time are Pauline Hughes, Penny Harrison, "Log" Lloyd, Sheila Ruddy, Nick Williams, Mary "Mac", Llyn Southall, Janice Hogben, John Nightingale, Anthony Tyler, Sue Ford, Tony Dodds, Tony Bianchi, Eric Taylor, Mike Worthington, Phil Holloway, "Flank" Flamanc, Penny Webb, "Flash" and "Min", Jean Robertson, Elaine Edmondson.
Please send recollections and photos to me at:
The first to send photos was Log, and you can see them by clicking here
Of course, I have changed a bit in the intervening years, as you can see below, but it will be fun to recapture some of the great times we had and to explore a bit of the history of the "Mil" and its owners.
Well we all change a bit in 40 years!
